About the print ...

New Orleans’ artist Tuna Seither gives us another masterpiece in this year’s poster. Bathed in the golden glow of a Spring morning, Crescent City Classic runners pass New Orleans’ Armstrong Park, pass the musical roots deep in its history. Named for Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, one of the City’s best known Jazz Ambassadors to the world, the park played a big role in the development of all the musical styles associated with New Orleans. Louis Armstrong himself is among the runners, holding his signature kerchief and blowing his trumpet. His music encircles the runners who can not resist its call. Only the Crescent City Classic Running Man seems to be able to resist as he continues down South Rampart Street toward the finish line. The Serigraph print measures 32” x 24” and is silkscreen printed in a full color illustration of runners and musicians as we peer thru Tuna’s Kaleidoscope design.

About the artist ...

New Orleans native son, Tuna Seither, is recognized as one of the nation's foremost sports artists. Included in Tuna's works are commissions for limited edition silk screens of the Sugar Bowl, the New Orleans Golf Classic, the Grand Island Tarpon rodeo and the Super Bowl. He has also been asked to paint personal portraits for many sports personalities including Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Brett Favre, Dan Marino and Mike Singletary. Tuna, of course, also created a memorable series of posters for the Crescent City Classic featuring the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Degas House, Cafe du Monde, Saenger Theater and a map of the City of New Orleans as see only by Tuna. This year's poster is Tuna’s sixth work for the Classic.
